Lots on my Plate

Tuesday, March 12, 2013

Lately, I have been feeling quite overwhelmed. Poor fiance has taken the brunt of that.

I kind of stepped back and was looking at what has been going on and thinking, "Am I crazy?"

First and foremost, I'm trying to plan a wedding, which is only 3 months away. All the odds and ends need to be tied up at this point which includes a lot of vendor calls and emails. That's a part-time job in itself. So on top of my full time job I have that part time job.

I am also really trying to get this blog to grow and evolve. That means more frequent posting, participating in link-ups, tweeting and getting to know more people. The past month this has been so fun though! I have met a couple of the best bloggers and can't wait for my blog to keep growing. But it does take work. And that might even be another part-time job.

So that's a full time job and 2 part-time jobs.

Oh and guess what? We are seriously considering moving at the end of our lease. And notice needs to be given by the end of this month. Making a big decision in a short amount of time. Well, that's just fun. But we are looking because I really want a washer and dryer in my place. Having to trek our laundry back and forth, back and forth really is getting old.

I always said I function better when I have a lot to do. But for some reason all of this seems to be getting the best of me lately. I do feel overwhelmed. But I also know I need a new plan. A better plan.

A time management plan for the blog and wedding planning. When I am working on it and what is going to be posted. Organization will help me I'm sure. I have found a couple of neat tools to help me out. Blog calendars, post topics and I recently downloaded Evernote. See what that can do for me.

I know the light is at the end of the tunnel. I just need to have better plans,

What are your strategies for dealing with a lot on your plate? How about blog planning?

  2. gahh. The end of wedding planning is. the. worst. Just push through it.
And move. Seriously. I would kill for a washer and dryer. And a dishwasher. And a bathtub. I swear I live in a real apartment.
Um.. blog planning? I try to keep a running list of blog post topics. I also will write posts to save in draft on my phone using the Blogger app.
The one thing I don't do is schedule twitter posts, although I really should.
