A Marriage Begins with a Wedding

Monday, August 10, 2015

The union of husband and wife in heart, body, and mind is intended by God for their mutual joy; for the help and comfort given one another in prosperity and adversity; and, when it is God's will, for the procreation of children and their nurture in the knowledge and love of the Lord. Therefore marriage is not to be entered into unadvisedly or lightly, but reverently, deliberately, and in accordance with the purposes for which it was instituted by God.

Being able to share in a wedding is an amazing experience. Being able to see two people commit to each other has always been so wonderful to me. And then I got married. Now, weddings are a reminder of the promise I made to my husband. The vows I said to my husband and just how truly spectacular it is to be married and have a forever wedding date.

This past weekend I got to watch my friend, bridesmaid, sorority big sister say her vows and become a wife. It's such a wonderful thing that I was so excited to be able to see her and her husband take their vows. We might not always see each other but she will always hold a special place in my heart and I always want the best for her.

They fed their cake so very nicely, there were some fun tunes, wine bottles on the table and a photo booth. Pretty much everything you could possibly ask for during a wedding.

Hearing the minister recite the better for worse, richer or poorer, reminded me, no matter the rough season we might be going through is not forever. We will be stronger because of these past few months and will look back in time and know, this was just a test. I mean after all, we can rock big glasses quite well.

A Wine Filled Weekend

Tuesday, July 21, 2015

Now that it's Tuesday, I think I have finally recovered my wine filled weekend. And when I say wine filled, I mean it. Along with every bad food you could possibly imagine.

this past Saturday we went to our local winery, Laurita Winery. I say our because you might remember we enjoyed ourselves from here on our anniversary. This weekend it was for the ever popular, Summer Food trucks. And it's just as wonderful as it sounds. Not only is it a winery filled with some delicious Sangria, there were about 25 food trucks on hand that had quite the variety of food. It included cheesecake on a stick, empanadas, chicken bruschetta tacos and much, much more.

My favorite? The potato stackers. Basically, a potato sliced, deep fried and stuff thrown on top of it. Everything I ever wanted in a fried potato and more. It better have been because I waited on line for at least 45 minutes for this thing. My potato love is serious.

Although the heat was just downright painful, it really did help balance out the jars of Sangria we consumed because we seat so much of it out. Escaping to the nice air conditioned might have also been on the top of my list for the day.

It was a good day filled with family, friends and lots of food and wine. It also included a nice fireworks show to end the day.

Sunday we went for a little family brunch, Mimosas were included. Hair of the dog or whatever.

I then proceeded to take a nap and try to recover, did some work and was in bed by 10 p.m. sharp. Overall, a solid weekend of fun.

How did you enjoy your weekend?

Just Me and My Jeep

Monday, June 15, 2015

You guys (or probably more appropriately, gals) I am officially a full mobile unit again. This girl has gotten herself some wheels. My requirements were a Jeep and a Jeep that drives.

And this weekend, I got to stretch my wheels and take a nice drive to Connecticut and shower my sweet big sister with some love and gifts. This girl is getting married soon!

There was just something so great about being able to drive my own car all that way. Even if my foot did hurt from doing actual driving. It felt nice to be behind the wheel again, coffee in the cup holders and the country music blaring on the radio.

My wheels also took me to my sister's on the way home from Connecticut to catch up and see my other cousins. Ate pizza, shared some laughs along with other things.

And just to show you how long it has been since I've driven, Sunday was spent sleeping in until 9 and taking an hour nap at 1. Truly, a lazy Sunday. And it felt glorious.

PS. If you are wondering what Lily was up to all weekend, which who wouldn't, I can show you.

I like to be right in front of the TV

I am just so. tired.

A Merry Weekend

Monday, December 15, 2014

Having the weekends off is still something to get used. It includes getting used to juggling plans with errands and cherishing the brief two days we do have.

Friday night I had my holiday work party. A week at a new job and getting to go to the holiday party is something specil. It really lets you get to know your co-workers if you know what I mean.

Saturday was a relaxing day. I might have had an extra wine at our after stop of my holiday party. So we slept in, sat on the couch and napped.

Saturday night we gussied ourselves up again to attend a friends holiday party.

I even tried my hand at a Kate (The Small Things Blog) updo. With my short hair I am always looking for new ways to do my hair. Her hair tutorials are perfect for my length of hair. Unfortunately, I didn't capture a picture of my hair in the beginning of the night. But I think it held up pretty nice and I know next time I can play around a little bit better with it.

Our Sunday was spent recovering from a busy weekend and catching up on our errands. We had a fun compromise that we would split the chores for the day. So whoever didn't want to go grocery shopping would stay home and clean. Off to the grocery store I went. It was a lot crazy and I stocked up extra so next weekend I do not have to be in there. Husband did a nice job cleaning up the house. I'll keep him.

Now, it's off to another Monday and week of work. How was your weekend?

Pumpkins, Apples & Wine Oh My: Fall Weekend

Monday, October 13, 2014

Check that one off the fall bucket list. This weekend, we went apple and pumpkin picking. We had orginally planned for Saturday but woke up to a monsoon. So we decided to hit the mall instead and postponed our little adventure until Sunday. And we couldn't have asked for better weather.

Best apple picker.

The Moy's love fall.

We went to a local farm, Terhune Orchards, that actually has a winery. Win, win for me. We stopped in for a little wine tasting and found out we love dessert wine. Whenever we get fancy enough to have separate wines for dinner and dessert we will be popping it open.

It seems we were a little behind with the pumpkin picking this as year. The pickings were slim. And I wasn't too fond of the "patch." It needs a little upgrade.

Oh and there was a corn maze. I forced Brian to go through. I felt right at home in that corn. Growing up next to a corn field, I had my fair share of running through the corn and picking the corn right there.

Are we lost in the corn??
Oh. And then we waited a half hour for fresh baked apple cider donuts. No big deal. But it was a big deal and they were delicious.

As you can tell from some of the previous pictures, I am still getting used to using my camera. ISO, aperture making my head spin! But I am trying my best and when my husband will be patient with me. Just a couple good ones I shot yesterday. Or by my standard of good ;)

And the weekend fun didn't stop there as one of my bridesmaids, friends, Big, got engaged!! I am so happy for her and am pretty sure I told all my coworkers about it even though they have no idea who she is.

How was your weekend?

Weekends are Fun.

Monday, September 8, 2014

Another weekend gone. In the books. And here is how I spent it.

Friday night I finally got myself a pedicure after a 3 month hiatus. Shame I know.

Went for dinner and drinks with the best friend. Nothing says good bye long week better than a drink and best friend chat.

Saturday...I slept. And slept some more. It was wonderful. My Saturday mornings to relax are few and far between so I try to soak them up.

Followed by what's becoming a usual, trip to Homegoods. And then out to dinner with friends

Sunday I spent half the day at work. The other half was a three hour nap, football watching and yogurt eating.

Even though there was a bit of work thrown in my weekend, it was a nice one.

How was your weekend? any fun plans?

Just Some 5 on Friday

Friday, June 20, 2014

{ONE} Even though packing is for the birds, I am so excited to move the more I talk about it. We have a washer/dryer (no more walking outside to do it!) and a walk-in closet. Be still my heart.

{TWO} This space has been seeing some crickets. Life decisions, packing and just lack of inspiration have been the main culprits. I will hopefully find my way back here from time to time the next week or two. Stick with me and follow on Instagram to see all the shenanigans

{THREE} It has been a hot one this week. It has made Lily quite the grumpy cat.

{FOUR} Being content in my situation. I am always looking for what can be better instead of just enjoying what I have.

{FIVE} This guy has been so amazing. He has been helping me with job things and packing. It has been a huge help and probably why I love him just so much. Plus, he's a great model as I get my photography skills in order.

Have a fantastic weekend!
