New Fantasyland Disney World {Be Our Guest}

Tuesday, September 2, 2014

Our anniversary was spent as you know, in Florida at Universal Studios and Magic Kingdom at Disney World.

Now, many people gasped when I said we were only spending one day at one park while we were there. Let me explain.

We got engaged at Magic Kingdom so that will always hold a special place in our hearts and memories. And it means so much more to us because of that. And we had a limited 4 days that we wanted to spend doing something new. Universal Studios.

And the other biggest reason it was Magic Kingdom? The new Fantasyland. If you know anything about me, you know just how much I love Beauty and the Beast, Belle, all of it.

I named my childhood dog, Beauty. I had a 6th birthday party themed Beauty and the Beast, pinata included. My mom got me Belle gifts up until I was 22. And my sorority nickname? Little Belle. Case Closed.

I have been itching to get back to Magic Kingdom since we went the last time just for this very reason. And it did not disappoint.

Gaston's Tavern

Step right into Gaston's mancave straight from the movie. It includes horns hing on the wall. Scores of tavern games. And the best part is you can indulge in a sip of LaFou's Brew.
Gaston's Tavern

It is a mixture of no-sugar-added frozen apple juice flavored with marshmallow and frothed with some sort of passion fruit. Kind of makes up for the ale, right?

 Be Our Guest Restaurant

During the day, this reasturant is a quick service meal. Meaning, you can go in, order from the counter and choose your own seat. But dinner is the sit down dinner where you need to make reservations.

We booked our whole vacation 2 weeks before we went. Now, if you have heard from Disney and other people that go to Disney, booking character dinners requires at least 6 months in advance.

Well, that is not the case. Let me give you a trick. Two weeks out is when people tend to cancel reservations as they maneuver all their dinners and lunches. So what did we do to secure a prime 6:30 dinner reservation a week out from our date? Called every.single.day. Yes, we did. And my man came through for me. Call me crazy but I wanted to eat at the Beast's castle!

The restaurant even serves you "the grey stuff." I had to sing the song for about 5 or 6 people when I told them for them to really understand the importance of it. It was delicious. And I wanted seconds. And thirds.

It includes the West Wing and wilting rose.

Unfortunately, due to the inconsistent downpours, really touring the rest of Fantasyland was hard. We did get to enjoy The Little Mermaid ride. It was taken from Epcot and brought over to Magic Kingdom.

And now I will sit and think about going back the next time.

Our {First} Anniversary

Monday, June 16, 2014

It is still hard to believe our FIRST anniversary has already come and gone. We have been married a whole 365 days? No way.

disneyworldanniversary

We are so last minute with our whole lives that we booked this anniversary vacation 2 weeks before we went on it. But it was amazing nonetheless. And the perfect way to wrap up our first year. Enjoy the serious picture overload of our trip and anniversary.

Eat Cake and Universal

Surprising: The cake was actually still pretty good. A little freezer burnt on the icing but I was pleasantly surprised for my 6 am cake feeding.

Who knew we would end up at Mardi Gras on our anniversary?

And see Robin Thicke in concert?

Be Our Guest Restaurant for Dinner
Folks, I was seriously beside myself. We even went in a half hour before our reservations. I mean, I was there 3 years ago when they started building it. And Beauty and the Beast is my absolute favorite. I have the best husband who agreed to spend a day here. And even got the best seats, in the grand ballroom.

The Grey Stuff..It was Delicious!

Harry Potter World

Once again, best husband. We were able to get breakfast at the Three Broomsticks and then tour Harry Potter World. I will admit, it was approxiamtely 100 degrees. And no, that isn't being dramatic. So naturally, it was hard for us Jerseyans that haven't been exposed to above 83 degrees on a consistent basis lately. We sat and waited for rides. Then sat again.

The Harry Potter ride, is no joke. That is a serious ride that if you have the slightest aversion to motion sickness, do not go on this ride. I repeat, do not go on this ride. We saw at least 3 people head for the nearest trash can after we got off and Brian and myself were doing some serious dazed and confused moves as we left.

We didn't even sadly, get the picture of ourselves on the ride because we both looked sick and dazed. Not the cutest look I have had.

MMM Pumpkin Juice

ButterBeer

And the husband got to enjoy himself in superhero heaven.

Iron Man *sigh*

Of course, there is a video that captures ALL the pictures from our trip. Feel free to indulge.
