5 Goals for 2015

Monday, January 5, 2015

As we enter the New Year, I am even more excited to make my goals and resolutions for 2015. Ever have one of those years where you just have a feeling it's going to be amazing? That's this year.

There will be a best friend baby, a best friend wedding, a best friend moving back to the East coast and celebrating two years of marriage. Mixed in all of this excitement, I will be working hard to achieve my best self this year.

1. Live a healthier lifestyle

Tone It Up challenges will be completed. Junk food will be kept to a minimum. I have started to have some problems with my sugar levels lately and I think it's because of the lack of movement and poor eating habits the past month. Time to nip it in the bud and get myself back into shape. It's time to stop giving excuses to why I can't and realize why I absolutely need to be my healthiest self this coming year.

2. Be more intentional with my time

In order to grow myself and hobbies, I need to stop spending so much time drowning in Pinterest and my Twitter feed. And looking at cat videos...There are nights where I realize I spent over an hour just aimlessly clicking around the inter webs. It also means putting down the phone, which is another time stealer. Darn you Crazy Kitchen. It would be more beneficial to work on a blog post or have more conversations with my husband. Or what he likes even better, cleaning.

3. Grow my hobbies.

via
If I work on being more intentional with my time I know I can grow my blog. My time will be spent on my editorial calendar, social media planning and interacting more with other blogs to make my blog a success.

If I start eating healthier and working out, I know I can start running again without feeling like I'm coughing up a lung and actually enjoy it again. It will help me run a 5k in the very near future.

When someone asks me how I took our Christmas photos, I will be able to tell them the settings without stumbling through aperture, ios, white balance. Those will roll off my tongue and I will be able to switch back and forth with ease.

4. Cest La Vie

Anxiety is something I deal with quite frequently. It isn't out of control but it can definitely control my actions and attitude. It leads to controlling and obsessing over things that I shouldn't and even tends to give me minor migraines.  This year I want to be able to relax and stress less over things. On our anniversary trip, Brian described me as "vacation Krista." I wasn't stressed and just let things play out as they should. I felt relaxed and it felt great to feel that way. This year, Vacation Krista will be 24/7 Krista.

5. Become a better wife

This will be a continual goal year after year. I never want to stop working on our marriage and becoming a better wife. As our lives change, I have to adjust myself and my time. Really listen to what my husband needs. Marriage is work and I fully expect to give it my all this year. And apparently that means developing a cleaning schedule.

I am very excited to start working on these goals and develop myself over this year. What are your goals/resolutions for this year?

2013 in One Picture

Tuesday, December 31, 2013

2013. Lots of things happened this year. With this blog and outside this blog. I had good days and bad days, stressed days and elated days. But in those 365 days, there is only one picture needed to sum up my 2013.

This year started with the final 6 month countdown to or wedding and all kinds of weddings plans. It led to the moment where we said our " I Do's" and became husband and wife. We started our journey of forever this year. I am becoming a better wife everyday and we are learning the steps of marriage as we go. This adventure of marriage, made it's roots this year and we can't wait to see where it takes us!

Linking up with Jena at Recently Roached. What one picture can sum up 2013 for you?

Last New Year I was ringing in our wedding year with my fiance and I can't believe how the year has already flown by to us ringing in the New Year as husband and wife! As much as I would love to be joining the lucky winner in NYC, as per us our plans are very last minute. We might end up at my BFFs again, where we will down 12 grapes at midnight and make a wish. Or maybe we might shake it up and venture off somewhere new.

But either way, what would New Year's Eve be without a little Hpnotiq cocktail? No fun. That's what. Here are 2 of my favorite recipes and I just might be shaking up come NYE.

Now down to what I'll be wearing this New Year's Eve. I think it's always important to have a little Swarvoski crystal in your hair like I dazzled on my wedding day in the above picture. And add a little fun with sunglasses or props to truly kick up the Sparkle for your New Year's Eve with a side of a Hpnotiq cocktail, of course.

Oh, and sometimes it helps to add a handsome husband to the mix as I'm dancing next to above. But now on to real life, where I sadly can't wear my wedding dress out New Year's Eve.

Since I will be celebrating my first New Year's Eve as a Mrs. sans wedding dress, I figure I better glam it up a bit even if I can't win this awesome prize to NYC. Take a break from my usual jeans and sweater routine. Add that sparkle and shine. Here are a few of my favorites. I'm feeling the red this year (Might be a little coincidental..or hopeful..)

New Year's Eve

So what are your plans for New Year's Eve? Favorite way to Sparkle? And did you enter to win yet?!

New Year, New Design!

Thursday, January 3, 2013

Well, hello and Happy New Year!

As you can see I am starting off the new year of 2013 with a brand new blog design. It was definitely time for an upgrade and I am so glad I gave myself this Christmas/birthday present. And I am so glad I found Shannon to design my blog.

Shannon Page Design

She has some serious skills as you can see and is super quick. Responds quickly and somehow just knows what you are looking for after asking for a color scheme. The blog has a bright, cheery feeling now that I always wanted just didn't know how to get. Feel free to leave any comments, suggestions!

So if you are looking to get a new blog design, contact Shannon. It will be your best decision ever.

This then leads into what everyone is talking about this time of year...resolutions. And I definitely have a few I want and need to stick to.

First and foremost, I want to start becoming more involved with this blog. Everyday posts, going back to my roots of posting my thoughts and musings. Not that I don't love my link ups but I want to have more open and honest posts on here again. Connect with more people through blog land.

Since this is wedding year....the usual diet resolution jumps out for me. But this is something I have to get crackin on. Lucky for me, Bridal Guide posted Bridal Boot camp exercises that take you through each week. I need to get this booty into some serious shape. Legs are especially important.

Organize my life is another resolution that comes to mind. I seem to not have been born with that gene so I have to work extra hard at it. And after working so hard everyday, it sometimes gets put on the back burner. But I am determined to make it work this year. My first attack is to have a plan because I know that's the only way I will be able to even start thinking about it. I mean actually writing down what needs to be done, then maybe even drawing out a plan of attack. I'm a visual person. Pinterest will become even more of my best friend to find the best ideas. And I know Brian will appreciate the heck out of this resolution.

I am very excited for this year...first and foremost because I get to say "I DO" in just 5 short months to the love of my life! Definitely a life changing moment. I also know many other things will be happening this year. I don't what yet but I am determined to make new things happen.

Here we go!!

Goodbye 2012!

Well, 2012 it's been real. Not too shabby of a year but still hoping for a much improved 2013. Which, I just have this inkling, it will be :) Stay tuned for my 2013 resolutions, Real, actual ones I intend on keeping. That's the point right?

Here's my year in review!

Now, it's time to ring in wedding year!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

Oh hey it's 2012.

Wednesday, January 18, 2012

Looks like I've been MIA and I have been. I could blame it on a lot going on but that's not true.

I could also blame it on not having enough time. But I don't think that's entirely true either.

Yes, the holidays and new year got the best of me but there isn't an excuse in any of it anywhere. So heres the very brief recap.

Bachelorette party for the soon (and now) Mrs. Lucas!

Yes, my friend is a model. Be jealous.

Christmas celebration at my house with the very best guest of all!

I broke my camera on Christmas Eve :(

I then had a 25th birthday that included a wonderfully fabulous wedding of my friend Kristen...yes, there were tears. I am so hapy for them!

my birthday cake!
Is she not the most beautiful bride:D

And on such a beautiful day...we would have a picture like we were talking about the most revolting thing on the planet.
My handsome date.
Some of the greatest gals
Here's another one that was missing.

Then came a new year. 2012 here we are!

This will be a year of wedding planning...my best friends wedding and other friends weddings...maybe another move? Hopefully a trip to Texas (more on my recent obsession with Texas later) New opportunities and just plain fun. Here we go!
