Life Update

Saturday, August 29, 2015

I like to pop in and out of here from time to time so I figured now would be a great time to fully update on the minute details of what's been going on in my life.

// Summer Fun

While this summer has been a bit busy and adjusting finances a bit, I have managed to have just a bit of fun in there. We are living up our weekends. I am taking days off to enjoy friends being in town and that I do not get to see as often.

//Yeast Free
Living this life right now. An overgrowth of yeast has caused quite the problems in this household and it needs to be brought under control. But it is not easy. Somehow it has made my 50s housewife come out though. I made dinner from scratch and while that was coming made homemade cinnamon rolls. Who am I?! I am quickly realizing how different it is doing this with my husband instead of just me because guys eat A LOT. So it's making even more quantities from scratch and not just grilled chicken and hummus.

// Pain and no gain
That's how I feel about my fitness routine. My old lady parts are creaking. Specifically, my shoulder, knee and foot. And after working out all this time, making time for fitness, I still cringe seeing pictures of myself. I do not like at all. It makes it hard to keep the motivation to keep at it. I had joined a 21 Day Fix group but you post one thing and there are so many couches private messaging you offering their $150 package for their help. Was just a bit annoying.

// Rockbox

Officially obsessed with this little box that comes to me every month. It's kind of like the old school Netflix where you used to get DVDs delivered and you hung on to them and sent them back whenever. Same thing as this but for jewelry! I get a personal "stylist" who chooses my pieces that I get to keep as long as I want. My first box was a success and I love the idea of wearing it until I'm all like eh about it then getting a whole new set.

//Survived on only one income
I didn't mention this much on here, but my husband was unemployed for a few months due to his job sight closing. He was lucky enough to find a job so quickly and that is much better than his previous job. In the end, it all worked out. But I wouldn't say it was an easy process.

Well everybody. That's what's happening with my life. What's something going on your life you want to share?

Let's Shoot Guns, Paint Pottery & Drink Champagne

Monday, August 24, 2015

That, is my weekend in a nutshell. One of my best friends is getting hitched in just 5 short weeks so it was only proper we sent off her single years with the proper bachelorette party.

It started off with spending some time shooting some guns. Clay shooting to be precise. I was scared from the second I signed the waiver saying I could cause bodily harm if I didn't do it right. Luckily, we had a pretty comedic instructor who treated me like the little girl I was being the whole time.

Do you want to shoot another round? No, thank you.

Ok...They (the clays) are coming now...Because he knew I was hesitant to even say "pull" to have them released

Oh, I didn't show you how to load the gun? Yea, I see what you're doing there. I get it. I wouldn't teach me until the last station either.

It was so much fun though and I finally caught on at the very last station. Shot two in a row! I am officially going to look for a local place for us to go in the future. I am sure I could almost be considered a pro by now. I mean, I hit 4 targets.

Next stop, pottery painting! We got to choose a piece to compliment Shell's house.

Me and the girls went in on a group of margarita glasses. Mine wasn't a masterpiece but not too shabby either. I am curious to see what that will look like post glaze...

Naturally, we followed all of this with a penis straws, sangria, pizza and a night out. It was the perfect night to send her off! My headache the next day proved that much.

Next stop, wedding day!!

A Marriage Begins with a Wedding

Monday, August 10, 2015

The union of husband and wife in heart, body, and mind is intended by God for their mutual joy; for the help and comfort given one another in prosperity and adversity; and, when it is God's will, for the procreation of children and their nurture in the knowledge and love of the Lord. Therefore marriage is not to be entered into unadvisedly or lightly, but reverently, deliberately, and in accordance with the purposes for which it was instituted by God.

Being able to share in a wedding is an amazing experience. Being able to see two people commit to each other has always been so wonderful to me. And then I got married. Now, weddings are a reminder of the promise I made to my husband. The vows I said to my husband and just how truly spectacular it is to be married and have a forever wedding date.

This past weekend I got to watch my friend, bridesmaid, sorority big sister say her vows and become a wife. It's such a wonderful thing that I was so excited to be able to see her and her husband take their vows. We might not always see each other but she will always hold a special place in my heart and I always want the best for her.

They fed their cake so very nicely, there were some fun tunes, wine bottles on the table and a photo booth. Pretty much everything you could possibly ask for during a wedding.

Hearing the minister recite the better for worse, richer or poorer, reminded me, no matter the rough season we might be going through is not forever. We will be stronger because of these past few months and will look back in time and know, this was just a test. I mean after all, we can rock big glasses quite well.

Lose Weight with SlimQuick Pure

Friday, August 7, 2015

It might come as no surprise that I am still struggling with my fitness and nutrition routine. I swear that my metabolism has pretty much stopped or something. Or maybe it's the fact that I no longer walk 8 miles a day at a job.I had used SlimQuick years ago but wasn't really committed to seeing the results with fitness or nutrition. I was curious to try out this new SlimQuick Extra Strength Drink Mix and see if it could jump start my weight loss at all.

VIA

SLIMQUICK Pure Extra Strength Mixed Berries Drink Mix is designed for women to help them lose 3 times the weight by addressing the 6 physical reasons women have trouble losing weight. Guess what one of those is. METABOLISM! Apparently I am not the only woman that struggles with the slowing down of the metabolism.

SLIMQUICK Pure works to
-Increase Metabolism
-Reduce Appetite
-Boost Energy
-Reduce Excess Water
-Support Hormones
-Reduce Stress

 First off, the drink tastes absolutely delicious. Berry anything is good in my book. I definitely felt fuller just from drinking it in the morning. I am usually ready for a mid-morning snack around 9 but drinking this I soon realized I probably could get myself through lunch as there was no more hunger. Reduce appetite. Check!

I would drink my first one during breakfast, the next one afternoon snack, one at lunch and the last one with my afternoon snack. I have worked out pretty consistently for the past 2 weeks while using it and my nutrition has been good, wouldn't say great but wouldn't say terrible. I mean, I ordered steam broccoli while out getting drinks. The results? I lost 2 pounds in 2 weeks. It's slow but I will take it since I haven't seen any movement. Increase metabolism? I would say check from the results.

Each serving of this does contain about 2 cups of coffee worth of caffeine. I know some people are worried about the shakes from too much caffeine. With the way I spaced mine out, I had no issues. I also was not drinking any other caffeine throughout the day, including coffee. It kept me energized as if I was drinking coffee throughout the day. I still had a little afternoon slump but nothing more than my usual with coffee. Boost energy, check!

While I cannot fully measure whether it helped with stress I did not see much of a reduction of stress...Maybe I was putting too much pressure on that zen feeling.

If you have hit a plateau with your weight lost, I recommend at least trying SlimQuick Pure Extra Strength Drink Mix. Through August 31st, you can get $5 off with the coupon available here

I received this product free from Brandbacker but all opinions are my own.

The Thing About Facebook

Thursday, August 6, 2015

Pretty much every day I look at Facebook and shake my head at something or roll my eyes and consider deleting it all together.There are so many things I scroll through as think about how they are not meant for this particular social channel.

I know where multiple pictures should be shared and how. I know where something so mundane should be placed and I know where those paragraph longs rants should go. I mean, I just had one a few weeks ago, in the appropriate social channel.I get that most people do not understand Instagram or Twitter but for those of us that do, Facebook can be a real buzz kill.

On Facebook:I ate a peanut butter chocolate chip bagel today it was great-NO

But put that on Twitter...

Me: OMGosh. That sounds amazing!! #drooling

On Facebook:Sharing one recipe on your page-NO
Then another-NO

But do that on Pinterest...

Me:That looks delicious, PIN. A million calories, totally worth it, PIN.

On Facebook:Look at this amazing place I am at and taking a picture with her...a minute later...Now look at this other person I added standing next to me. -NO

But do that on Instagram...

Me:Eh, still no. Stick with the one, maybe two, people. Unless, it's babies. Babies can keep going and going with those chubby cheeks and putting objects in cabinets. Consider a nice collage instead.

On Facebook:I am having a really bad day today. Got up late for work, spilled my coffee all over me and then lost my keys. Some days are just harder than others and I wish I could just have a good day today.-NO

But put that on a blog post...

Me:Girl, I hear you! It has been a rough week and when you feel like it's all pouring, it can get overwhelming. Keep your head up!

Anyone else feel this way about Facebook?
