Christmas Movie Favorites

Thursday, December 12, 2013

As I am suggling up on this frigid NJ day on my day off watching Christmas movies, I figured it's a great time to share my favorite of all my favorites of Christmas movies. And also, because Chelsee and Christine are hosting Christmas in the Air. Remember my Newlywed gift guide?

I am a Christmas lover. Christmas obsessed. Whatever you want to call it. But I watch Christmas movies all year round. Basically, it's because I love the happiness and meaning of Christmas movies that I want to enjoy them all year. Not just for a month or two. My husband is very lucky I just keep that year round Christmas to just movies and music..

Enough rambling, I know you are dying to know my favorite Christmas movies.

1. It's a Wonderful Life

This movie is in black and white and is quite the classic. (do not even get me started on how upset I am about them making a colored version). It has one of the truest Christmas tales and what the meaning of Christmas is really about.

It became a tradition for me and my mom to watch this movie together whenever it was on. Getting this movie on VHS for a family gift exchange was one of the best presents I ever got.

Oh, George Bailey. It will be ok.

2.The Santa Clause, 2 & 3

These are all my favorite. I love having a Santa Clause marathon in my own house. I especially love when he has to find a Mrs. Clause in the second one. Noodles and pie anyone?

3. Elf

The best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear.
Need I say more?

4. Love Actually

Is there anything better than a love story set at Christmastime? How about a bunch of them all intertwined?

5. The Holiday

Flashbacks to my sorority gilr days where we all crowded in a bsasement to watch this romantic holiday movie. Just something about the across the world love. And Jude Law doesn't hurt.

6. Arthur Christmas

This may be a cartoon but I somehow enjoy it. Arthur is the dorkier younger brother that likes the simple times of Christmas and what it's truly about. And his light up slippers, the best part.

7. Four Christmases

Many people did not enjoy this movie or hardly remember it existed. But as a Reese Witherspoon fan, I really enjoyed that she made holiday movie. And it even touched on the craziness of families when you have 4 to go to. Something we are well too familiar with this married Christmas year.

8. Christmas with the Kranks

Boycotting Christmas? Santa Clause in another Christmas movie? Just doesn't seem right. But will still always be at the top of my life to watch.

9. The Grinch

Cindy Lou Who. Da-da-DA GRINCH!! And how did Jim Carrey do it?!

10.Iron Man 3

It takes place at Christmas so it's a Christmas movie, right?

And just for good measure,

11. Pretty much any ABC Family Christmas movie.

Weekend Shenanigans

Tuesday, April 2, 2013

Yes, it's Tuesday.

Yes, I am just updating my weekend of fun.

Usually when I work weekends I tend to have a less eventful weekend but this weekend was a little exception.

Friday night we met up for a very extended happy hour with friends. Had a few vodka tonics (for wedding diet) and chatted it up with the bff.

Saturday I roused myself for work and the craziness that went along with it. But when I came home Saturday, sister made her way over to see us for Easter.

Lily enjoying some Iron Man

Went for a special treat on Saturday night... went to see G.I. Joe.

Well, let me tell you about this movie.

**If you are at all interested in seeing this movie I would stop reading because I am about to enter a rant and spoil some parts of the movie

I have been excited to see this movie for about months. Yes, I enjoy superhero, action movies. It is what it is.

Anyways, I was looking forward to the next chapter of this movie especially with the addition of The Rock. But I was VERY disappointed. First off, Channing Tatum dies within the first 20 minutes. Seriously?!

He was the main character in the first one and this movie even opens up explaining that he is now in charge of the Joes. And we are also given no explanation where the rest of the Joe's went. And then poof! he's gone.

On top of that, it was just a terrible sequel because it had 2 characters left from the first one, one of which wears a full black suit, mask and doesn't even talk. SO not much there. And how can you have retaliation if the people involved with the first movie aren't even there? Obviously, not impressed. But I was impressed with this!!

Did I mention I love Iron Man?!

Moving on....to Easter. Had a very low key Easter. Put together tiny baskets for sister, Brian and Lily. I have lost my Easter decorations in between storage or the in laws house. So I picked these up from the dollar section at Target.

Ended the weekend working on wedding invitations so they are just about ready to mailed! And of course watched a little Client List
MILF Research

And that my friends was my weekend!

You Watched the Super Bowl, too?

Monday, February 4, 2013

I am truly shocked.

You saw the commercials too from the Super Bowl? Well, that's just crazy. Anddd the whole thing?

Am I still going to talk about it all anyway? You betcha! (in my best Sarah Palin voice)

But first, let me blow your mind...

Jim Harbaugh Ladies and Gentlemen was on Saved by the Bell....Sorry your team lost.

Back to the play by play.

National Anthem...Jennifer Hudson has got it goin on. Where did she disappear to? And of course, the Sandy hook Elementary School students chorus singing with her definitely pulled at my heart strings.

Ok, back to the commercials. Here's a collection of my favorites for you to re watch in case they were your favorites too. Coincidence I tell ya.

This was absolutely adorable. And a tear jerker for sure.

If you grew up in the country, your gramps was a farmer and you know the true hard work of a farmer, this was a commercial you could appreciate. Applause from us country folk, Dodge.

Now for the funnies!

Brilliant. Genius. You go Taco Bell.

I can't not laugh at someone speaking in a Jamaican voice. VW did a good job with this one.

How can Amy Poehler not make you laugh in this Best Buy commercial?

And I can not leave out my absolute favorites...my all time favorite movies...
Iron Man 3 and Fast 6!

And I think it goes without saying, Beyonce, amazeballs. That little get it she romped around in left nothing to the imagination. And makes you think if she wears that in public...what does Jay-Z get to see?

My 15 year old self was truly pumped for the mini Destiny's Child reunion.Kelly and Michelle just popped up out of nowhere.

Oh, and the game? Sure.

Linking up with Jade at An Organized Mess for my Super Bowl Recap!
