You Watched the Super Bowl, too?

Monday, February 4, 2013

I am truly shocked.

You saw the commercials too from the Super Bowl? Well, that's just crazy. Anddd the whole thing?

Am I still going to talk about it all anyway? You betcha! (in my best Sarah Palin voice)

But first, let me blow your mind...

Jim Harbaugh Ladies and Gentlemen was on Saved by the Bell....Sorry your team lost.

Back to the play by play.

National Anthem...Jennifer Hudson has got it goin on. Where did she disappear to? And of course, the Sandy hook Elementary School students chorus singing with her definitely pulled at my heart strings.

Ok, back to the commercials. Here's a collection of my favorites for you to re watch in case they were your favorites too. Coincidence I tell ya.

This was absolutely adorable. And a tear jerker for sure.

If you grew up in the country, your gramps was a farmer and you know the true hard work of a farmer, this was a commercial you could appreciate. Applause from us country folk, Dodge.

Now for the funnies!

Brilliant. Genius. You go Taco Bell.

I can't not laugh at someone speaking in a Jamaican voice. VW did a good job with this one.

How can Amy Poehler not make you laugh in this Best Buy commercial?

And I can not leave out my absolute favorites...my all time favorite movies...
Iron Man 3 and Fast 6!

And I think it goes without saying, Beyonce, amazeballs. That little get it she romped around in left nothing to the imagination. And makes you think if she wears that in public...what does Jay-Z get to see?

My 15 year old self was truly pumped for the mini Destiny's Child reunion.Kelly and Michelle just popped up out of nowhere.

Oh, and the game? Sure.

Superbowl Commercials!

Sunday, February 6, 2011

So this is me attempting to write this post via Blackberry so bear with me :)
I will be commenting on the commercials as they happen. I know so cool, right?

So far they have been mediocre at best. Nothing to exciting. (Disclaimer: I won't comment on every commercial because that might get out od control)

The Bud Light commercial was pretty clever. Kind of sensationalizes commercialism and how products are placed in movies and shows just to get endorsements.

FAST FIVE- I am so very excited for this movie! Yes, I am a girl that loves cars and have seen every one of these movies in theaters. It also helps that Paul Walker and Vin Diesel are pretty tasty. Now you add The Rock and oh man. Front row, sign me up.

Oh, Green Bay got a touchdown.

Pepsi Max- Who doesn't like something when the guy gets nailed in the goods?

Optima-Sorry, lose.

Another touchdown for Green Bay. It would be good to note here I have no preference for either side in this game. I just like both of the Black and Yellow and Green and Yellow songs. 14-0

Brisk- Eminem as a cartoon?! Endorsing Brisk? That is definitely interesting.

GoDaddy- HAHAH! I must say that was definitely a good laugh for me. All I was thinking is of course they would use a Hooter's girl to get guys attention then BAM! 60 year old woman.

Budweiser- Clydesdales + Tiny Dance= Win

Teleflora-"I love your rack."

TRANSFORMERSSS!!-Clearly, I love it. Also, genius to release all these movie previews during the Super Bowl.

Side note: John Travolta!

BMW- A diesel car. Very intriguing.

Volkswagen-What a cutie Darth Vader.

Snickers-Betty White was funnier. Just saying.

Captain America- I am intrigued. Thanks to my boyfriend for making me a comic book geek :) at least with movies

Touchdown steelers!

some boring commercials.

Royal Caribbean- Clever. Negative degrees in most places and you show a warm, sunny place. Well played Royal Caribbean. Well played.

Nothing too exciting for me. Although, Jennifer Lopez on the Idol commercials are a breath of fresh air in the mundane commercials.

Wait, hold the phone.

PIRATESSSS!!- Another amazing movie trailer!

Stella Atrois- Uh, boring.

OOPS. I will admit I just did vacate the television for a bit. It seems I forgot the Super Bowl was on haha

Chevy-Hot girls in cars. Clever.

Verizon-I have great service on AT&T thank you very much.

Skechers-Totally obsessed with the Kardashians so duh love it. But a wee bit provocative wouldn't you say?

ETrade-Always adorable. Pappers didn't get his flu shot.

And the Packers won the Super Bowl.

Well, folks. It's all over. Definitely went with the movie trailer theme this year. Those were the ones I enjoyed the most. Most were duds in my book. Some were cute and interesting but an overall 5 or 6 I would say. Until next year!

In the 'Spirit' of things?

Wednesday, June 23, 2010

Or not so much.

Spirit airlines has made the news with a new controversial advertisement displayed on their webpage. It is making light of the BP oil spill. Have a quick look for yourself.

There are multiple slides with this particular slogan, Check out the oil on our beach' for Cancun and Puerto Rico.

It ends with a picture of two sunscreen bottles, conveniently green and yellow, that say Best Protection.

There has been a lot of talk about this ad today and the mixed reviews it is getting. The airlines issued a statement that is visible on their page after you click through the ad.

"It is unfortunate that some have misunderstood our intention with today’s beach promotion. We are merely addressing the false perception that we have oil on our beaches, and we are encouraging customers to support Florida and our other beach destinations by continuing to travel to these vacation hot spots."

Now some local residents in Florida are praising the airlines for reminding people that it is still a great place to visit. And thanking Spirit airlines for trying to continue tourism in spite of the oil spill. But many news outlets and bloggers are voicing their opinions. And it is definitely not praise that is coming out of their mouths.

Majority are critical of the ad and it appears this isn't the first time Spirit has been in the news for their less than tactful advertisements.

Here Spirit defended this ad saying they weren't aware what the term MILF meant.

And this one was right after the Tiger Woods scandal.

So it is your call but it seems Spirit finds any controversial topic and makes light of it to gain attention. Does it work? Well, I know it got my attention I just don't know if I would fly their airline.
