National Coffee Day!

Wednesday, September 29, 2010

Piggybacking off my previous post, it is national coffee day today!

To celebrate the day right, I will be picking up my Pumpkin coffee at Dunkin Donuts. Yum. yet another peek of fall. I have had one so far but I need to get my fill before they are gone.

So raise your coffee cups and be thankful for the caffeine that jump starts our day/ keeps us going throughout the day.

Speaking for all the coffee Drinkers

Sunday, September 12, 2010

When I say how disheartening it was to see the article on CNN titled, "Coffee prices on the rise."

A daily coffee drinker myself I was drawn to read this article. Wondering how much my wallet would feel the pinch of the so called higher prices. Well, it turns out that it isn't a recent rise but a slow and steady climb.

Apparently bad weather in South Africa, the fact that Vietnam and Brazil have become hoarders and the US just doesn't have the coffee crop it used to, is what is leading to the nearly 13 year high in coffee prices. Folgers, Dunkin Donuts and Millstone already raised their prices up 10% and Maxwell House with a 9% rise and K cups will see a 10% increase by October.

The interesting part of this article is where it says the price of coffee might not be felt at your local Dunkin Donuts or Starbucks since they are individually priced. So have we come to the point where grabbing your quick cup o' joe at one of these establishments before work will actually be cheaper? Which defuncts the previous, save money by brewing your own at home.

I must say, a pumpkin coffee everyday would suit me just fine, Yummm. I just hope the supply gets larger because if we see a day without coffee at all, it would mean a lot of early morning brawls.

Stand up to Cancer

Friday, September 10, 2010

Tune in tonight at 8 to help donate and get rid of this terrible disease. I remember this on 2 years ago and how inspirational it was to listen to everyone that had battled cancer. It is an awful disease that took the life of my grandmother and many other people out there. Such a powerful stand, please donate.

Scents are Wonderful

Saturday, September 4, 2010

So Fall is slowly creeping up on us.

Soon there will leaves changing and the chill entering the air. Actually I kind of like fall quite a bit. The fall foliage is so beautiful. Definitely didn't think I would be seeing another fall up here on the mountain but such is life. And can be seen as a nice blessing.

With the change of seasons, most especially fall, comes the change of scents. And I mean this as in air freshener scents. On a trip to the local store last week,  my friend and I saw the display of fall scents. They included Pumpkin spice, cinnamon spice, berry, apple and a mixture of all of the above. Unable to resist I bought myself a nice Febreze noticeables with berry and spice. And I must say I really enjoy it.

My bedroom now smells like the fall. Every morning I wake up to it and at night I fall asleep dreaming with the scents floating in my head. I know, I know I seem quite obsessed with the fall scents. But they are so wonderful!

I'm not sure if they remind me of fun times of fall in my childhood or earlier years or what but it just gives me a calm of some sort. Also, apple has always been an enjoyment of mine. It also made me think how fall is really the only season that has such a burst of limited edition scents. I mean Christmas has its holly and mistletoe but I still don't think it is as prominent as fall.

Now that I have rambled on and on about air freshener scents, I will sit back, relax and smell my pumpkin spice.
