Hey Friday! Random Thoughts

First Friday to link-up with September Farm and The Farmer's Wife for oh hey Friday!

Life Choices. They are hard. And stressful. Knowing if you are making the right decision for you and your family is a huge weight to have. Just waiting on some good news in the coming week, fingers crossed!

Lily. What a joy. What a crazy kitty. What a way to assure us we might not be able to handle a child anytime soon. Especially when you have us up every hour, every single night. These bags under eye bags are not cute on anyone and I love sleep. And you busting up your chin caused me slight panic.

Bachelor in Paradise. With Clare. Why did I just find out about this today? August 4th, people. The train wrecks will begin.

Blogmopolitan Quiz. Thank you Erin at Two Thirds Hazel for yet another great Blogmopolitan Quiz.

Christmas in July Giveaway. Enter today to win amazing prizes from myself and other great bloggers.

This post couldn't have come later on a Friday night. Thank you if you are actually reading. And I hope you have the greatest weekend!

Just Some 5 on Friday

Friday, June 20, 2014

{ONE} Even though packing is for the birds, I am so excited to move the more I talk about it. We have a washer/dryer (no more walking outside to do it!) and a walk-in closet. Be still my heart.

{TWO} This space has been seeing some crickets. Life decisions, packing and just lack of inspiration have been the main culprits. I will hopefully find my way back here from time to time the next week or two. Stick with me and follow on Instagram to see all the shenanigans

{THREE} It has been a hot one this week. It has made Lily quite the grumpy cat.

{FOUR} Being content in my situation. I am always looking for what can be better instead of just enjoying what I have.

{FIVE} This guy has been so amazing. He has been helping me with job things and packing. It has been a huge help and probably why I love him just so much. Plus, he's a great model as I get my photography skills in order.

Have a fantastic weekend!

I Just Don't Wanna

Thursday, April 24, 2014

I am fully aware of the grammar usage in that sentence. Does it make you cringe? I sometimes find myself wanting to correct my own slang on my posts.

Today is one of those days. The days when you sit and stare. Stare at a blank page wondering just what to fill it with.

Should I talk about Lily? You know you all love her and her adorableness all over my Instagram.

Or maybe tell you how excited I am that I scheduled a 4 day weekend next week and I am beside myself. It will include a haircut, massage, mani/pedi and heading back to my hometown to see one of my home girls. Yea, I went there.. And hopefully a new laptop if I'm really good..Cross your fingers for me!

I could tell you that I am currently chatting with a friendly man name Travis from Apple Care.

Facebook is having some serious issues on my iPhone. Wouldn't be a big deal buttt Candy Crush, Cartwheel, pretty much every app can't access Facebook. clearly, this is serious.

Perhaps you might acually want to hear about my Easter weekend. Where we strolled in Princeton, had a mid day glass of wine, and a nighttime margarita. Visited Dad on Sunday and ended it with Devious Maids.

And I know you want to hear that I have FINALLY joined the #1800minutechallenge with the genius Erin from Living in Yellow.

Late to the party as always, but I'm determined to get there nonetheless. I am also signed up and ready to take on the Tone It Up Bikini Series. I am all kinds of serious about getting myself in shape.

I think that is all for my very random brain dump. Any fitness plans you have before summer? And how cute is Lily? But seriously ;)

Seriously Thankful.

Wednesday, November 27, 2013

Throughout this month, I have participated in the Thankful Project. I have had the opportunity to share many stories and truly be thankful for the most special things that are in my life.

Well, just to get back on track of not always being *so serious* about things. Today, I want to dwell on the completely wonderful and sometimes materialistic things that I absolutely love and adore.

This guy. My husband. As we are coming up on our first holiday season as Mr. and Mrs., I know I am so lucky to have this man as my husband. I mean, he cleans the kitchen and takes out the trash. What more could I ask for?
Handsome devils.

And if you all already didn't know, this kitty has out heart. She will always be our first "baby" no matter how many come after her. She drives us crazy on a daily basis but also makes us love her no matter what.

Lily also loves the iPhone. Her fish live there.

My iPhone. It entered my life just a short 3 months ago but I can not tell you how much I am so glad I have it. It makes life easier with shopping, emails and blog things. And don't forget all the cool pics I can post on Instagram.

Speaking of Instagram, I am thankful for social media, this blog included. It has really given me a community of people I could never imagine and allowed me an outlet to share some of the best days and some of the not better days. My writing reaches people and I am so thankful for that. Plus, I can be a crazy cat lady and am not judged. Well, ok maybe just a little.

NSync Christmas Album. More specifically this song.

My wedding pictures. I have probably looked at them everyday since we got them back. No, I am not exaggerating.I just look so perrrrttyyyy.

My family and friends near and far. If your family and friends are far this holiday season, we just have to remember how lucky we are to have people so special we just miss them so much.

And to top this thankful post off. Christmas.

Enjoy your turkey everyone! Gobble, gobble!

The Thankful Project| A Blessing

Thursday, November 14, 2013

http://www.thechasinghappyblog.com/2013/10/thankful-project-blog-challenge.html

Admittedly I am behind and skipped about a bunch of days but I figured I would jump back in today.

The biggest blessing in my life is this kitty. I know I joke and laugh about being a crazy cat lady but there's a reason.

It was the end of November in 2009 when I was working a terrible part time job, still trying to find a full time job after I had graduated in May. I lived by myself, didn't really do much due to the limited funds I had coming in and was kind of down in the dumps. Then one night I got a call from my sister asking if I wanted a cat, deep down I was screaming, "yes!" But knew I couldn't afford the extra expenses or have the time for her. I was then gifted this blessing by my sister.

I am so glad I was wrong and decided to get her because even if I knew it or not, I needed her. She made me excited to come home, let me chat with her and cuddle with her. Made me feel less alone.

Does that make me crazy? No. Anyone with a pet knows that special place they hold and just exactly how it feels when they want to snuggle with you and no matter what happens, they love you.

When your cat becomes more famous than you

Thursday, September 26, 2013

It happened a few weeks ago. Lily made her way to mainstream fame.

She might have let it go to her head....

You have to make an appointment to pet her

She goes crazy on the paparazzi

Her requests for sleeping quarters are diva like (needs a pillow)

Her love for designer brands has increased

She lives the grand kitty life.

She is always looking for the next big thing

And that my friends, is another post about my cat.

COMFORT.

Friday, September 20, 2013

Today's Blogtember prompt: React to this term: comfort.

Comfort.
Cozy.
Comfortable.

This guy. My comfort at all times.

Snuggled in bed.

Hot drink on a cold day

Melts my heart.

Yes, this.

Mother's Day,Missing a Mom

Saturday, May 11, 2013

It never gets easier. Easier to deal with? Yes.

It never hurts less when people ask you what your plans are for mother's day and you have to respond, "My mother passed away." And then the conversation becomes a little weird.

But I know I have healed when the conversations can turn positive again and when I don't have to hide out crying all day. I know even though I can't see my mother's resting place, she's in my heart.

And I still buy my mom a gift. Even if she isn't here, I purchase a donation to the American Cancer Society for the money that would have been spent on her. She loved this charity in honor of my grandmother. So I always like to do that for her.

Also, every year I look back on my posts from the previous year. This is why I love blogging. I can see how I felt last year and how I have grown. And I want to share with you my post from last year.

The past few weeks the emails, commercials and marketing tools for Mother's Day have been on and on.

Four years later and it isn't any easier to hear or see, "Shower your mom with love." Or "Make sure to let your mom know how much she means to you this Mother's day."  Delete, mute, turn the corner.

I wouldn't say I'm bitter but I also wouldn't say I'm not. In a way I am bitter. Bitter that showering my mom with love means leaving flowers on her grave. Bitter that I can't call my mom on the phone or send her the flowers to show her how much she means to me. I just have to whisper it into the wind.

But I'm also not bitter of the fact that I still have amazing other women in my life. Look at these women I get to send mother's day cards to. Women who are there for me and support me.

And let's not forget I get to be a cat mommy to this cutie. Yes, I said that.

You can read the full post here.

And if you are asking what you can do for someone that celebrates mother's day without a Mom or Father's DAy without a day...the answer is just be there. Be there for them whether it's a phone call, card or a quick text just to make them smile about something. Or picking up the phone when they call because you know they might be having a rough day.

It's the little things that mean the most.

And I know someday I will have children of my own to celebrate this special day with where I will be able to tell them all about their wonderful grandma in Heaven.

What Do I Do?

Monday, May 6, 2013

What do I do? (Besides my job)

I am a stay at home MILF who loves shopping for shoes and lays by the pool all day. I have new boobs that I love and I workout every morning to keep this awesome figure. I blog all day and do fun crafts to maintain my gorgeous home.

I WISH.

My bad, I was living in the future for a second. Or in my dreams.

So what do I ACTUALLY do?

I blog from time to time when the occasion strikes. This also causes me to explain blogging to quite a few people . It also gets me judged on the inside for the ones that do not understand why I write about my life for all to see. Long story short...Writing is My Therapy.

I craft. Lately, it has been a little wedding focused. But I also try to make up some treats for my nearest and dearest.

I wedding plan like a fiend. Or at least for another month when I finally say, "I DO!"

I love...this guy.

And this kitty.

I laugh at myself and do not take life too seriously. Life can have a way of bringing you down and sometimes you just need to remember...no one gets out of alive.

I live my life. I don't make apologies or excuses. I do what's best for me  (and my soon to be hubby) And I don't make excuses or apologies.

Oh, and I dance. Nothing like a 30 Second Dance Party. I'm tellin' ya.

Show Life That You Have a Thousand Reasons to Smile

Saturday, May 4, 2013

Sometimes life is pretty rough. Sometimes it can try to tear you down. I know it's taken a few hits with me. And it will continue to try my patience and strength. But I can't let it get the best of me. And I won't.

This is my absolute favorite quote. You probably have seen it multiple times around the blog. And it's a favorite for me to talk about for Blog Everyday in May.

I love it because there are days when I am "hating life." But that's exactly where I don't want to be. So instead, I have my pity party for a minute then get myself together and put on that smile and remember everything truly great in my life.

Those moments when the ache in my heart from missing my Mom gets me down, I always try to reflect that even though she's not here, she gave me the strength and independence to get me to where I am today. And I have to remember that where I am is not too shabby.
So basically, life sucks sometimes.
But what's a better day than a day you choose to smile in spite of the rain? And pretty much say," Eff you. I'm smiling today. Because I can."

And these, my friends, are just a few of the thousand reasons I smile everyday.

My Prince.

Our little baby.

Family.

Family.

The best friends.

Friends are family.

Best friends near & far.

And of course, this little space I have found here with some of the best people. Can't wait to see where it all goes.
