Let's Talk CMA Awards

It's no secret around here I love country music and Carrie Underwood. And her legs. But that's a different story.

I can remember cruising around in high school blasting Carrie, Tim McGraw and Jason Aldean. One of my first favorite country songs was Keith Urban's "Somebody Like You." Then, it was a beautiful road from there.

Country music has the most meaningful lyrics and no lip syncing. Which is exactly the reason I love watching the CMAs every year.

Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley did not disappoint with their opening this year. Cracking jokes about the republican party, George Straight and Ebola. But my favorite was the Post partum Taylor Swift Disorder. Here's a girl not sad she has left country music

I might be judged harshly for this, but I am so glad Taylor Swift is officially out of country. I mean come on people. She hasn't been country for years and it always made me so angry. Ask my husband. Also, no awkward shoulder dances. Win for me.

Carrie changed 11 times. That must be some workout when 5 months pregnant. She pulled every single one flawlessly though. As if anyone had any doubt she would. Once I get her legs down, I'm going to attempt her fashion sense.

Then, there is Carrie Underwood's new song, Something in the Water. It reminds me of her very first song "Jesus Take the Wheel" because it is all about having faith. It leaves nothing back and you can hear the chimes of Amazing Grace which always brings a tear to my eye.

And did I mention it's emotional because me and Carrie Underwood are actually best friends and she announced she's having a boy?!

If I ever wanted to be THAT fan and buy the celebrity  something over their real life registry, Carrie Underwood is where I would cross that fine line. The fine line between super fab and crazy fan.

There were actually other people at the CMA Awards believe it or not. Let's discuss some other tidbits.

Steven Tyler at the Country Music Awards. My mom would have loved it. And I would have called her afterwards to talk about it and the fact Carrie is pretty much the most beautiful pregnant person ever.

Why the harsh judgement for Arianna Grande and Meghan Trainor? I ge the whole they aren't country but they are pretty popular right now in the world of music. I personally loved both collaborations. Just as much as I loved Florida Georgia Line with Nelly.

Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton. Could they be better cuter? I mean, he walked her to the stage when she won her award. Swoon. And did anyone catch that Blake mentioned it was a big night for his family? Does family insinuate there is a third member? Yes, I over think celebrity pregnancies.

Wouldn't be an award show without mentioning Luke Bryan and his big win for the entertainer of the year. He shakes it all year long. I have to get myself to see him shake it.

Until next award show country music! What were your favorite parts?

  8. Still loving the joke they had about Taylor. If you use Spotify, not sure if you saw they have a playlist called, "What to play while Taylor is gone" It's actually pretty good.
