The Struggle is Real

Tuesday, April 29, 2014

It is so easy to eat unhealthy. Chocolate bunny for breakfast? So easy.

Drinking Diet Coke instead of water? Tastes better.

And working out. Who's got time for that?

These past few weeks, I left the dieting behind. I ate what I wanted, worked out when and if I wanted. And that's just a bad idea, folks. I added a few extra pounds and am not feeling great.

This time last year, I was on my way to my wedding day and in serious crunch mode for my weight. Since then. let's just say, not quite there.

This is the stop to that. Healthy eating isn't just about weight. It's about all over body health. If I eat like crap, I feel like crap. I gain weight and my blood pressure, cholesterol go up. This leads to health problems.

To get me back on track, I have joined the Tone IT Up #BikiniSeries. Fit and fabulous before my first anniversary. I want abs. I want my love handles gone. I am not sure if I will weigh myself daily or weekly. Only because that can sometimes be my fixation. Curses to you scale.

I just want to be healthy. Feel fit.

But the struggle is there. And burpees are hard. And every other excuse that I have ever given. It's a mental block that needs to go. Like yesterday.

It ends today. Today, I make the pledge to get healthier, get fit and say goodbye to love handles and hello to new abs. I will be eating mostly yeast-free and sugar free (minus margaritas, just being real) I will be sticking to my fitness plan provied by Tone it Up and meet by #1800minutechallenge.

I am also holding myself accountable with all of you. You all see my pledge to get back in shape. Pretty much I have no choice but to stick with it. Otherwise, how much of a fail is it if you see me looking the same in a few months?

So here it is. Here it goes. I am going to do something I thought I would never do. Post a before picture. Let you all see the jiggle, wiggle.

There you have it. The before. Now, to work on my after.

  1. I'm participating in the bikini series too! And 1800 minute challenge! We're going on a cruise for our anniversary (although it's in July and our anny is June 8th) and I want to look better than I did when we got married! :) Let's use each other as a positive support system and make sure that we succeed and fulfill our goals! :) You can do it!

  2. I need to find a program to follow! When my husband and I got married we started working out and eating right, and now if we "take a day off" and eat junk, we feel like crap! We're doing the 1800 minute challenge together <3

  3. Love that you're doing it together. Brian is a little more in shape than me so I'm trying to catch up!

  5. I am having such a hard time getting back in to it as well! I did awesome right before my wedding but now it's hard to find something "that big" to look forward too! I cannot wait to see your progress, and hopefully take from your motivation, because I need it:)

  6. Kudos to you for posting a before photo...I can't bring myself to do it! And btw, you look great! I'm doing the #1800MinuteChallenge (struggling a little) and the TIU Bikini Series. As far as eating goes, I'm not following any specific diet, but trying to make better choices...like not eating bread or pasta for every meal and not eating a piece of Easter candy every time I walk by the bowl haha. I want to feel good in my bathing suit this summer and be ready to walk around in some cute dreses and shorts once the weather warms up. I'm excited to follow along and encourage each other during this process! You go girl :)

  7. It was so easy to stick to it when you are thinking about 140 people staring at you for about 8 hours in a strapless dress! Now, it's about a long term fitness goal!

  8. Thank you, it wasn't easy! I debated about it for a little bit but then figured why not. Because I hope to be posting bikini pics this summer, I want everyone to see it took work.

How are you liking the Bikini Series? Their workouts are pretty tough I must say and my muscles are aching!

  9. I agree, the workouts are tough! I've done some of their workouts before and they are challenging, but I suppose that's a good thing :) In a way, I like being sore, because at least I know I was working hard and working muscles that needed it...can't wait to see what the end results are!
