Our Honeymoon in Kauai Day 2: Rum and a Luau!

Thursday, July 18, 2013

The second day we changed it up and started off with breakfast at the small cafe on site. A little coffee and a lot of gorgeous scenery.

Early morning face.

Trying to be artistic

Then it was time to change back into the swimsuits and hit the beach.

K + B= Love

One of my favorites.

Frolicking.

One of the things I was most looking forward to about Hawaii was a Luau. It was all I kept talking about and we decided to partake in a little Luau festivity.

Luckily for us, we found Kilohana Plantation.

KILOHANA is Kauai's Premier Destination & Experience.  The plantation is over 40,000 acres, and we showcase 105 acres for your exploration and enjoyment.  The MANOR HOUSE is a living museum, no entry fee, where you are invited to sit and relax in the living and dinning rooms where businessmen and politicians were entertained and made their deals, and explore our 7 unique Shops & Galleries.  You can also savor a sumptuous Lunch, Dinner, or Sunday Brunch at our gracious Courtyard Restaurant, 'GAYLORD'S, AND, do not miss relishing our signature Mai Tai & Pupus as you relax in the ambiance of the Manor House Living Room, theMAHIKO LOUNGE.  Or, experience the Ultimate Hawaiian Luau and Extravaganza, 'LUAU KALAMAKU', and please walk - DO NOT RUN - to Kauai's very own 'KOLOA RUM COMPANY', featuring the only Rum Destination Tasting Room in Hawaii, or, how about being pampered at our full service salon, 'THE BEAUTY SHOP', and finally, for our young train engineers, they can create their very own pottery, or paint ready made treasures at 'CLAYWORKS'.  We guarantee that your day at KILOHANA promises to be relaxing, memorable, and fun for the entire familyŠ. And, as we say in HawaiianŠ.

'AUWE KANANI, E KOMO MAI'

Hold on, does that say Rum Factory? Sold.

Rum tasting.

We were able to make our own Mai Tais, in shot glass form. And of course, we got a souvenir of this shot glass to remember it by.

A little artistic.

Taking a fancy ride on a train through the plantation.

Wait, that's my name?

I somehow forgot to get a food shot. But the buffet was delicious! We had pulled pork, tofu, chicken and we even tried pho.

Because I don't have the best camera, I only got a few non-blurry pictures of the luau.

Stay tuned for the best of Kauai from our movie tour!

Missed the rest of our honeymoon?
