Tis the Season For Gift Guides. Bloggers love gift guides. Guilty as charged. Instead of making my own, I've decided to round up a few gift guides all in one place.
Make sure to visit each blog to see where you can get the goodies from. And there are some great last minute gift options. Remember, only 2 weeks to go..
I have arrived to this page to write about my life. It really is a miracle. Life has been going all over the place lately and I haven't been able to catch up. Time is just not on my side lately.
As I am trying to adjust to my new job, I also have to adjust my time management. I would usually do most of my blog planning/writing on Tuesday mornings and Wednesdays. This was my late day, day off and when Brian wasn't home. Made the most sense.
But now, I have a job that is the normal 5 days a week, 8-5 kind. When I'm home, Brian's home and the nights go SO quickly after we get home. Then weekends are booked due to the holiday and the fact that everyone in my life is so ecstatic I no longer work weekends that they must see me. I am feeling the love {Insert girl fluffing her hair emoticon} Before I know it, I did one thing on my list for the whole week and am all like, Whaaattt??
Needless to say, I have A LOT of adjusting to do over the next month. You will see me pop in here and there to give you a who's who of gift guides, Christmas treats and a BIG, BIG fun surprise. No, I'm not pregnant. See here. But it's going to be a fun time. A lot more fun than the past week. Pinky promise.
Now, I'm off to catch up on all my blog reading...and listen to Carrie Underwood's Greatest Hits.
Today, I started a new beginning. A new job. A completely new job that is different than anything I have ever done.
For the past 4 years I have been working retail management. It happened when a job in my field out of school didn't work out. After working part-time, it was a great option to tie me over until I found something.
It was something I enjoyed the first few years. But the past few years I have been stifled and held back. It started to really take a toll on my self confidence and happiness. I knew it was time to make a change and jump back into what I went to school for. Even if it meant going a little bit backwards.
I went on interviews, had letdowns, lost hope, gained hope, more times that I could count. But then finally 3 weeks ago, a new door opened. It was a quick process and I was excited to accept. Is it a risk? Yes. But I am confident that this will be a place and industry for me to grow.
While this new beginning is exciting, it's also scary. It's completely new and it's in an office. Dressing myself is even a challenge. I bought my first cardigan last week. Yes, it's true. Putting an outfit together is hard work. I had maybe 3 outfits to choose from everyday if that. Now, it's a process.
Office politics and courtesies are not areas I am very familiar with. I am used to barked orders over a walkie. Not being talked to politely across the wall or through email. It's a breath of fresh air. And I couldn't be happier that I have finally started this new beginning and the magic it will bring.
Happy December everyone! Tis the season am I right? In case you aren't sure why you should love December as much as me, let me give you 10 Reasons to prove my point.
Decorating for Christmas
Growing up, decorating for Christmas was always a tradition. It meant hot cocoa, yule log on the tv and a lot of Christmas music. I love transforming our home into a Christmas wonderland and it is always a great family tradition for many families to do this all together. Making the best Christmas tree or cursing at knots in the Christmas lights.
Christmas Traditions/Activities
Most Christmas traditions involve the whole family and have been around for years. It's always fun to look back on these as you get older. Driving around to see Christmas lights, Christmas parties, gift exchanges...the list is endless but they are always favorite parts of my December.
Winter Wonderland
The first big snow usually happens within the time frame of December along with more frequent showings of the white stuff. It's great to see snow adorning the branches and brings with it a sense of peace. Before we have to brave it and drive in it, of course. I am hoping to capture a few good shots of the snow this year on a snow day I might actually get!
25 Days of Christmas on ABC Family
Even if you own all the movies they play continuously, there is just something so exciting about the start of this yearly tradition. Cuddled up with hot chocolate, lights twinkling and The Santa Clause playing.
It's Not Bikini Season
Want that extra piece of pie? Sure, why not. There is nothing fearful about being in sweatpants and covering up with sweaters as there is in the summer when you face the dreaded string of the bikini. See ya in April, bikini.
Commercials
All commercials become a lot more festive this time of year. They aren't just background noise but ones you actually want to watch. Coca-Cola Polar Bears perhaps? Or maybe the timeless M&M commercial.
Christmas
Family. Food. Giving presents. All around cheer. Can there be anything better in December? Oh, yes, actually...
My Birthday
Age is just a number. Especially when you are creeping closer to 30. Yes, you should love my birthday too. Something exciting might be happening around here!
New Year
What's more to love than New Year's Eve? Kiss with your sweetie at midnight, cheers of champagne with your friends and family to start a brand new year.
