A child's imagination. It knows no limits and can be stretched as far as the eye can see. With the addition of iPads to many children's lives, it's important to have educational but fun shows to teach children. And really make sure their imaginations are being tested.

There is a certain 3 year old in our family that really enjoys her educational television shows and movies. Bonus points if there is a talking animal in it. She can sometimes be found pressed up to the TV just to catch the best moments. But her TV time is limited to allow for book reading. I knew she would be the perfect little lady to try out a new show available on Amazon Prime Instant Video.

Creative Galaxy, produced by Out of the Blue Enterprises with Angela Santomero (Blue’s Clues, Super Why!) serving as Creator and Executive Producer, is a make-along, create-along, interactive art adventure series for preschoolers. Characters Arty and Epiphany travel around the galaxy to solve problems with art, inspiring creative thinking through crafts, music and dance. 

The series helps make children and adults aware that people literally find themselves immersed in art most of the time: Parks use sculptures to add interest and to inform people; posters on walls give information and motivation; the clothes we wear are designed; music plays on the radio to keep your energy levels up; dance has meaning and tells stories. Whether we think of our world as art or not – it is!

When watching Creative Galaxy, this little lady was mesmerized and intrigued by the show. She asked questions and even adjusted her chair to get more comfortable to fully enjoy the show.

I personally loved how each episode was so wonderfully written so a 3 year old could understand it. She bopped along to all the creative songs for each time they went into the Creative Galaxy and I bopped along to every time they entered "Draw-opolis" and every other art planet. What else did I love?

•  I learned how to MAKE bath crayons. Yes, really.
• Idea Box Might be my inner sorority girl of "Do-Nice Kit" coming out but I love this idea of a craft box for kids
• Epiphanie Character Not sure what exactly he is but is he not the cutest?!

If you have younger children and really want them to learn from their television, Creative Galaxy will be a great addition to your usual shows. This show inspires a child's imagination to make art from everyday items like a paper towel holder and oatmeal container and really make them excited for art!

Competing with Yourself

I am a quote person. In fact, when I first started this blog, I ended every post with a quote. There is just something about quotes. There are so many, so many things people say that are worded just the right way to make you feel something.

There are ones that can make you think about your life. Whether it motivates you, cheers you up or gives you a little smack, there are quotes that you keep coming back to. My personal favorite right now is this one.

Many times we sit and compare ourselves to other people. We want to be better than the person next to us. When in reality, we should just be focused on our journey, our own growth.

I look at this quote and try to keep repeating it to myself. It's been all too easy for me lately to look around at other people and how they are moving forward with their lives. It;s easy for me to compare their new job, better job and wondering what I'm doing wrong. I just need to remember that I need to grow by my own standards without competing with other people's lives.

Fresh flower bouquets. The dream of bloggers and women everywhere. If you don't like fresh flowers, you can't be a blogger. Not really, but you know bloggers love flowers to photograph, instagram, etc.

Pumpkins, Apples & Wine Oh My: Fall Weekend

Check that one off the fall bucket list. This weekend, we went apple and pumpkin picking. We had orginally planned for Saturday but woke up to a monsoon. So we decided to hit the mall instead and postponed our little adventure until Sunday. And we couldn't have asked for better weather.

We went to a local farm, Terhune Orchards, that actually has a winery. Win, win for me. We stopped in for a little wine tasting and found out we love dessert wine. Whenever we get fancy enough to have separate wines for dinner and dessert we will be popping it open.

It seems we were a little behind with the pumpkin picking this as year. The pickings were slim. And I wasn't too fond of the "patch." It needs a little upgrade.

Oh and there was a corn maze. I forced Brian to go through. I felt right at home in that corn. Growing up next to a corn field, I had my fair share of running through the corn and picking the corn right there.

Are we lost in the corn??

Oh. And then we waited a half hour for fresh baked apple cider donuts. No big deal. But it was a big deal and they were delicious.

As you can tell from some of the previous pictures, I am still getting used to using my camera. ISO, aperture making my head spin! But I am trying my best and when my husband will be patient with me. Just a couple good ones I shot yesterday. Or by my standard of good ;)

And the weekend fun didn't stop there as one of my bridesmaids, friends, Big, got engaged!! I am so happy for her and am pretty sure I told all my coworkers about it even though they have no idea who she is.
